QR codes and Comic Strips

Hi! Semester almost over! Yay!

Ok, so I enjoyed watching Avraham's videos and the qr codes with questions. Though these were exciting and interesting, I agree  with the man from the video, and am not entirely sure what the benefit of QR codes are over links sent in a mail. I understand that QR codes make things more organized, so I hope to try this out one day.

I looked over the cooltoolsforschool page that Avraham suggested, and was excited  by the thousands of tools for the classroom that can be found there. I found myself  drawn to the 'comic creating' section.  I tried out a few comic creating websites- Toondoo, Comigs, Pixton. They were limited yet fun and I like the  idea that I can create my own comics and that I can make this a fun assignment for my students.

  1. From the cooltoolsforschool, i liked the Smories, where you can write stories and post them. you can also get srories from other writers. It reminded me of Protagonize where you can submit and read poems\stories...

    1. I thought there were lots of great things in cooltoolsforschool too. I think Quizlet is the one I use most, both to learn Hebrew and for my 11th grade Bagrut students to study English vocabulary. I glanced briefly at the comics tools too, but was afraid of wasting hours learning how to use them and ignoring my family.

  2. I think that a benefit of QR codes is that they are simply cool. Kids might like the idea of using them. Hopefully they won't get bored of them.

  3. The concept of QR barcodes is amazing. I will tell you what their benefits over sending links via email. Many younger students not necessarily have their own email addresses but they do have their own devices. That means that when giving your students an assignment which includes watching a video clip for example, QR barcodes has a greater advantage over emails.

  4. I think that using comics in class rooms is a great way to get students reading. The websites of comics making you mentioned can be very helpful for teachers who want to make comics that will suit the topic they are teaching her students.

  5. I think one of the benefits of the QR codes is that they are just very easy to use.
I received a package this week by mail with something that had to be assembled before use. In the package there was a QR code to a video of the instructions.
Instead of needing mu computer, I could just use my phone/tablet to see the instructions!
