The First Few Tips I Have Learnt

I have started following three blogs as required in this course. I have already learnt some really great tips!!
In the blog "Digitally Yours", the writer shares with us three great apps for keeping yourself organized and getting your shopping done.

She recommends Google Keep and Out of Milk- 2 great shopping applications where you can share your shopping list with others and add pictures.
The app that interested me most was Any Do- this app organizes your life, reminds you to call people and much more. (Actually created in Israel!)

Click here for more info- Any Do

A useful tip from blog "Free Technology for Teachers ": Don't point the webcam at your nose! When sending videos or live stream to students, line up the webcam with your eyes for the most effective angle.

Is it possible that social media can be used positively during gatherings? The Innovative Educator says Yes! The ideas I liked the most were,
1) Using group chat to find each other at a big event
2) Sharing questions and photos of things you see at a museum./event in a social media group and a  discussion can be formed
3) Those who couldn't make it- can enjoy for afar

  1. Sara, you have found very interesting blogs! The one I like the most is The Innovative Educator. It provides great ideas of how to use social media effectively. We tend to look at the bad influences of the internet, iPad, iPhones and technology in general. Lisa Nielsen gives great tips that illuminate the advantages of media

  2. The Innovative Educator is also one of the blogs that I am following... I'm interested to see the posts that you comment on, even if they we comment on the same post I believe that it could be intresting to see the different ideas we may take out. I like the idea of the any.do app. I read the website explaining their new web page, I really wanna try it to see if it is really as useful as they say and if it is I am definetly going to use it.

  3. Sara, I liked the idea of using social media at events. I think that often when students attend school trips they can get lost easily within a big crowd. Even if they aren't physically lost some children may feel isolated from the large group. If the students would use a group chat beforehand they might feel more included, and there would be less stessful situations.

  4. Hi Sara. I really liked your ideas and I am definitely going to try the Any.do app. I am not sure what I think about using social media in events. I believe it can be great for specific activities but it can also encourage students to stuck their had in apps and not socialized with each other.

  5. Hi Sara. I think I'm with Shira on the social media at events issue, although maybe it's a generational thing. :-) On the other hand, I downloaded the any do app, and I'm really hoping that it will help me get a handle on all of the multiplicity of things that I need to take care of. Sometimes these things take a little time, and you can feel that you're spending too much time with them -- but in the end, they save much more time than they take up. Thanks for the info!
